Just like that, the 2016 NFL season is underway. With football dominating the headlines this summer — from record-setting deals to blockbuster trades to stubborn holdouts and more — it is hard to imagine a key milestone slipping by under the radar.

“The Conduct Commissioner” kicked off September with his 10th anniversary and rather than celebrate Roger Goodell’s first decade of leadership, the National Football League let September 1 come and go without much public attention. My colleagues at ESPN and I took the opportunity to discuss the commissioner’s impact on the past 10 years of professional football, both on the field and behind-the-scenes, and offered insight into what’s next for Goodell, the fans and the future of the game.

I also joined CBS This Morning to break down the latest developments in the battle to regulate daily fantasy sports. It is important to remember that the companies behind this $3 billion business are essentially start-ups navigating this incredibly lucrative business.

In between these camera sessions, I also made a trip back to my old stomping grounds with my son and we had a great time catching up with an old friend.

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who we drafted in 2005 during my tenure with the team, joined me on “The Business of Sports” podcast and turned some heads with his discussion of the players’ leverage in CBA negotiations and the role of the NFLPA.
